No worker left behind

The No Worker Left Behind (NWLB) program was created by Governor Jennifer Granholm to help Michigan workers in the changing economy. Through NWLB, the Governor sees an opportunity to accelerate worker transitions to a more knowledge-based economy as well as to support the state's development needs.

The NWLB tuition program aims to assist workers get the credentials for jobs in areas such as advanced manufacturing, health care, biotechnology, renewable energy, and other growing areas. Tuition assistance is capped at $5,000 per year for two years, or a total of $10,000 per person. The degree must be completed within the two years to qualify.
